Recycled Building Materials to Promote Resource Circulation

Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are essential components of electronic products. However, Taiwan produces over 100,000 tons of waste PCBs annually of which more than 60% is non-metallic waste that cannot be effectively recycled. Since 2014, REnato has researched and developed the REstone series from recycled PCBs. Through cooperation with the world's largest power supply manufacturer, PCB plasticwood made from recycled materials were officially launched in Q4 of 2021. The use of PCB plasticwood can:

Promote resource circulation

Each board uses 35% to 50% recycled PCB glass fiber, combined with recycled plastic and fiber wood powder. The total proportion of recycled materials is as high as 70% to 90%, significantly reducing mining and use of new materials.

Reduce carbon emissions by 83%

By changing the way waste PCBs are processed and using them as building materials, carbon emissions can be reduced by about 83%.

Using recycled materials for building not only supports resource recycling but also reduces the emissions of upstream procurement items for enterprises in Scope 3.
